Our private lessons take place in a private studio where you will be the only dancers on the floor with your instructor. You will be able to focus on your dance steps, play your music and receive guided instruction with no distractions. We guarantee you will enjoy your private dance experience with us!

Why choose private instruction?
If you have specific dance styles you would like to learn or have an upcoming event to prepare for and want to accelerate your learning process then private instruction is a smart choice. We will work with you in designing your personal dance planner. One on one instruction allows you to control the flow and pace of the lesson. Perhaps you want to dance for exercise, to improve balance and flexibility or you are interested in working on rhythm and musicality with a specific piece of music? If you are feeling a little shy about dancing then a private lesson will introduce you to some basic steps and techniques, preparing you for a group class in the future. Whatever your specific goals and needs are Dance Connection will deliver and guarantee you enjoy the process!
How many private lessons are recommended?
At Dance Connection you may purchase one lesson at a time or sign up for a series of 10 lessons. All of our private lessons are one hour in length. We will provide you with as much detailed instruction and movement as you are able to absorb and then it’s up to you to practice prior to the next session. Partner dancing is like any sport, you have to develop muscle memory and familiarity with the steps, patterns, turns and more! Depending upon your timeline or goals, we suggest you take a lesson once a week or every other week. By the end of several sessions, you should be able lead and follow with your partner or the instructor, dance basic patterns, identify the different rhythms in your dances and navigate the dance floor smoothly. Whether you choose a 10 lesson package or purchase a la carte, your experience will be positive and uplifting!
When and where do the private lessons take place?
We offer private instruction online, in various dance studios located in Brooklyn and in the comfort of your home or office for an additional fee. We rent studio space at several locations:
The Floor, 310 Atlantic Avenue, 2nd Floor, Brooklyn NY 11201
Class Space, 243 Smith Street, Ground Floor, Brooklyn NY 11201
Spoke the Hub, 748 Union Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215
Lessons take place during the daytime, evenings and weekends. We suggest that you book as far in advance as possible to get days and times that are most convenient for you.
I’m ready to start dancing, how do I schedule a private lesson?
We prefer that you email us when you would like to begin, dance styles you are interested in, your general availability and any blackout dates that you may have. We will consult our master calendar, email you what is open and then request that you get back to us within 48 hours with the dates you’d like to book. The lesson will be confirmed once your payment has been received. We can also arrange for a phone consult and assist you with scheduling that way.
What is the cost for a private lesson or a package of 10 lessons?
Depending upon the location the fees vary:
$165/hour or $1570/10 lessons at The Floor, 310 Atlantic Avenue or Class Space, 243 Smith Street
$140/hour or $1330/10 lessons at Spoke the Hub, 748 Union Street
Semi- Private Lessons are also available 3-6 people and Private Parties may be arranged and the fees will reflect the length and circumstances.
